AllSafe 3-Gun Mini-Match @ Burro Canyon Shooting Park
Sep 5 @ 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
AllSafe 3-Gun Mini-Match @ Burro Canyon Shooting Park | Azusa | California | United States

This is a four-stage shooting competition where we will keep score but nobody will win anything but the admiration of their fellow shooters. It will transition from pistol/shotgun; pistol/rifle; and one stage featuring pistol/shotgun/rifle. Most of the targets are reactive steel, so buckshot and centerfire rifle calibers will be necessary. Maximum rifle distance will be under 100 yards.

Recommended ammo: 50 rounds pistol, 30 rounds buckshot, 50 rounds rifle.

Slings for long guns are recommended, but tables will be provided to allow for grounding firearms for transitions. All pistols will need to be holstered.

This is not a “class” but a fun shoot to encourage people to enjoy the different platforms. Rifles will NOT be inspected for compliance to the ridiculous state laws, but ammo will be inspected to prohibit steel-cored (and basically all Eastern Block ammo).

There will be no sight-in period. All shooters will start with cold guns.

AllSafe Intermediate Handgun @ Burro Canyon Shooting Park
Sep 19 @ 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

This course is designed as the next level up from the Basic Handgun Course. It is for experienced shooters who have their own handgun and understand the rules of gun safety, plus the fundamentals of aiming and trigger control. It is a combat-oriented action class conducted in a workshop fashion where the instructor will demonstrate the proper technique and then supervise as each student practices. The skills offered at this level include featuring drawing from a holster, shooting from cover (barricade, kneeling and prone), plus one-handed shooting. Students will then have time to develop their skills before attempting a challenging series of scenarios that combine all of the skills taught earlier.

You will need to bring your handgun and a minimum of two magazines (more is better) and three hundred rounds of ammo. The range prohibits any bi-metal (Eastern Block) ammo so please don’t bring any.

You will also need a holster and a carrier for your magazines. I recommend a strong-side friction fit holster as the most practical for this class. We will be shooting from the kneeling position so you may wish to bring knee pads (although this is not necessary).

RSO & Basic Trauma Care @ AllSafe Defense Systems
Sep 20 @ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

The RSO class course covers all the various range environments (indoor/outdoor) and provides practical policies for range inspections and controls. As part of this course, participants will work with a wide variety of rifles, pistols and shotguns to assure they can open, inspect and clear these firearms. The class will take a field trip to a local range to observe and evaluate the operation of a working range.

At the conclusion of the RSO Course, Ross Francis will conduct a Basic Trauma Care course. Although it is NOT part of the NRA RSO program, it is an essential training opportunity to learn how to deal with major traumatic injury, such as gunshot wounds.

The Basic Trauma Care is a four hour course, designed for those who enjoy activities in the outdoors or in locations where emergency medical services may be delayed in response or absent altogether. The course focuses on proper assessment and treatment of potentially life threatening injuries, including gunshot wounds, fractured bones and penetrating injuries to the chest, among others. Use of tourniquets, hemostatic agents and standard dressings/bandages are also covered.

“This class over delivers! TJ is an excellent instructor. I recently took the NRA Certified, Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home Course. As a female I appreciate his unbiased attention, high expectations and dedication to teaching. You will leave this class more confident and competent than you entered. He will push you past your comfort zone, in a helpful way. Come to this class prepared to work, learn a lot and have a great time. The drills were extensive, but extremely helpful and fun. If you’re looking for a short cut, this IS NOT it!!”
